Zaire and Dihamante Champions of the 22nd International Lusitano Festival

About one thousand people watched the XXII International Lusitano Festival that took place from June 3rd to 5th, at the Hipodromme Manuel Possolo in Cascais.

It showed that the breeding of Lusitanos is still growing and it already is a great internationalization example.

After two days of qualifications, it was on the last day of the Festival, (Saturday 05/06) that the Gold Medals were awarded to the best stallions and mares.

The six year old stallion Zaire (Rouxinol x Orgulhosa x Hostil) from the Pedro Passanha Stud Farm and the two year old mare Dihamante (Hostil x Queixosa) from the Monte Velho Stud Farm, were the great winners of the XXII International Lusitano Festival.

Santa Margarida Stud Farm was the just winner of the title Breeders Champion, being rewarded for the Art that has been developing with passion and feeling.

The Lusitano is still a great asset for the national economy, being exported to 22 countries on five continents. The markets that are expanding are currently the Brazilian, Mexican, Spanish and French.
