World No.1 Ahlmann for Beijing Masters

The setting is amazing and so is the line-up of participants: The current no. 1 show-jumper in the world rankings, Christian Ahlmann, has also confirmed his participation at the Longines Beijing Equestrian Masters.

From April 18th-20th, 2013 some of the world’s top show-jumpers will be competing against the best riders from China in the “Bird`s Nest” Olympic Stadium in Peking.

There are 32 Olympic, World Championship and European Championship gold-medallists among the competitors of the international jumping competitions. In addition to Christian Ahlmann, among others Ludger Beerbaum, last year’s winner Jos Lansink from Belgium, the European Champion Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (Sweden) and the US-American Laura Kraut have confirmed their attendance. Marco Kutscher, France’s Olivier Guillon and Nick Skelton (GB) will also be competing in Peking. The veteran rider Beerbaum is particularly looking forward to the ambiance of the “Bird`s Nest“: “Riding here is almost an awe-inspiring experience, this stadium is really incredible. As one of the Olympic participants, I had the honour of experiencing the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Games.“ 35 competitors, including 24 from China, will be battling it out for the victory in the Longines Beijing Masters 2013. “We will experience fantastic sport in the Bird`s Nest,“ commented Michael Mronz, General Manager of the Aachener Reitturnier GmbH (ART), which is co-organising the Masters. “Together with the Chinese Association, our aim is also to promote the equestrian sport in China and throughout the entire Asian region by establishing this top international event,” stated Mronz. He added that the equestrian sport has become more global over the past years and that the ART is acknowledging this development with its commitment in China.
