The flights were reserved and the suitcases were packed to leave for the VR Classics taking place in Neumünter, Germany from 17 to 20 February 2011.
Unfortunately, Matthias Alexander Rath had to cancel his participation at the World Cup with his mount Sterntaler-Unicef. The reason is a death in the family Linsenhoff / Rath.
At the age of 82 Klaus Rheinberger, the widower of Liselott Linsenhoff and stepfather of Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff, had passed away on Tuesday 15th February in France. Rheinberger sponsored the ‘Piaff Förderpreis’ for Grand Prix riders under 25 as well as the ‘Otto-Lörke Prize’ for the most talented young Grand Prix horse of the year in Germany. The complete family is on its way to France.
Team bronze medal winner Rath had planned to qualify himself in Neumünster for the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Final in Leipzig (27 April until 1 May). Besides Isabell Werth (Rheinberg) und Ulla Salzgeber (Bad Wörishofen), who have already qualified themselves for Leipzig, Rath und Helen Langehanenberg (Havixbeck) have the best chances to reach the final.
