Victory for Luís Sabino Gonçalves at Casas Novas CSI 5*

The Portuguese combination Luis Sabino Gonçalves and In chala d'En Haut overcame their opponents in the Eroski Center Trophy, seventh tour of Casas Novas International Show-Jumping Competition. The rider is used to the podium in A Coruña, but in this occasion fortune did not smile on him until the last journey of the competition. Mounted on In Chala D’en Hamt, Gonçalves completed his tour in 40,66 seconds with 65 points.

The second position went to the Belgian Ludo Philippaerts, who has also won the Azkar Trophy held on Friday. Mounted on Sam, the rider got 65 points in a time mark of 43,29 seconds. The Swiss horsewoman Linda Heed mounted on Ramzie obtained third position in the podium with the same number of points as her predecessors, but a time mark of 44,52 seconds. One of the best riders in the world, Gerco Schröder, was fourth position. Mounted on Eurocommerce Ventimiglia he also made 65 points with a 45,27 seconds time mark.

The best Spanish rider of this Trophy was Miguel Honrubia, who toured the lap of honour in fifth position. Mounted on Moreau, the Spaniard performed really well marking a time of 45,27 seconds. Sixth, seventh and eighth position were also dyed in Spanish colour.

Out of 44 riders, only 13 were able to finish the round without any penalty. The Eroski Centre Trophy was judged under the scale accumulator with joker.

mounted on Kilian. With a 28,26 seconds time mark , he overtook the American Peter Wilde with a difference of 22 tenth.

Due to the brilliant performances of the Spanish riders Sergio Alvarez Moya (28,65’’) and Gonzalo Testa (28,76’’), both members of the Spanish Equestrian Team, the public thought the victory will remain in Spanish hands, but finally the riders had to accept third and fourth position respectively.

The lap of honour was completed by the Dutch Harry Smoulders mounted on Riovanna. His time mark of 29 seconds gave him the fifth position.

The CxG Corporación Caixagalicia Trophy was judged under the scale two phases, the fist one A scale against the clock and the second one C scale.

Only 21 competitors out of 41 succeeded in participate in the second round. In fact, the Swiss rider Marcus Fuchs bate the time mark in the first round with a performance of 27,72 seconds, but he could not accede to the second round because of a knocking down.
