Ulla Salzgeber danced with Wakana to double wins in Salzburg.
Salzgeber, who was part of the gold winning German team at the EC in Verden (2001) and Hickstead (2003) and now a montar Wakana was considered as the favourite pair of the Pappas Amadeus Horse Indoors in Salzburg.
Salzgeber was forced to withdraw from CDN Berlin one week before Salzburg due to a problem in Wakana's back. The mare had hurt herself in the stables and as Ulla had felt a small tension in her back, the vet advised Ulla to give Wakana a few days off. However in Salzurg Salzgeber didn’t let her fans down.
Ulla Salzgeber who was in Salzburg for the first time in Salzburg, praised the organisers and the wonderful atmosphere of at the show. “For Wakana it was enough to get a bit tensed in her first indoor show of the season, so I am very proud on her as well”, Ulla said.
In the Freestyle on Sunday morning Wakana already was more at ease and did a good job again. Only some problems in the one tempi changes influenced the score negatively. “However the music and exercises went very well together now. Wakana was very focussed and we worked very harmoniously together. Now she really deserves some free moments again to relax in the field and to be ridden outside until the end of the month”, Ulla said happily after her Freestyle win.
