The top riders at the III Vilamoura Equestrian Tour 2006

The best international riders return this year to III Vilamoura Equestrian Tour to participate in the CSI** events which commence on the 20th February and end on 19th March. With international, amateur and young horses classes the event will distribute 88.000€ in prize money.

Top riders from, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, Holland, Sweden, Romenia, Israel, Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Switzerland and the host country will be attending the meeting organized by Aluxbox and Lusotour.

Courses will be designed by Luís Xavier de Brito (Portugal), Robert Ellis (G. Britain), Brian Henry (Ireland) and Serge Houtman (França).

Vilamoura is the name given to an area rather than to any actual town. It is outstanding in that it is one of the largest single tourist complex in Europe and covers some 2.000 hectares of land. The land is variable in its vegetation, some parts covered in pine forests whilst others open recovered marshland. Vilamoura is a special place, a unique leisure and recreation resort community where the pace of life is so easy it feels like summer all year round.
