In January, Avignon (France) turns into the world horseshow capital with its fabulous Equestrian festival.
Third-biggest show of its kind in Europe and by far the most creative. Each new edition is full of innovation – drawing new crowds and long-time fans. A delight for connoisseurs and horse lovers. The show extends through 7 buildings, with 250 exhibitors touching on all kinds of horse-related activities – equipment, clothing, boots, food, care, training, art, decoration … The program features exhibitions, competitions, performances and shows, with lots of highlights, including the gala evening “Gala des Crinières d'Or”, the high point of Cheval Passion.

Dressage and voltige, combining tradition and innovation: The Garde Républicaine, the national stables “Haras Nationaux”, for the very first time, the Mafra School from Portugal, and the Théâtre du Centaure, with Gabrielle Dew, Joël Chacon, Marion Watebled, Sébastian Fernandez Martin… Lots of other talented artistes, Calixte de Nigremont is master of ceremonies.
– Poney Passion: Wednesday 17 January, for school children – introduction to equitation with meets, pony games, and the grand show by the pony clubs in the region.
– Breed shows: 1000 horses presented in the form of short performances, to admire the many races of horses – pure blood, Arabian, Barbe, Camargue, Espagnol, Lusitanien, Lipizzan, Quarter Horse, Appaloosa, Frisons, Mérens, Shagya…
