The Horse Inspection at the CICO3* Fontainebleau

Although the competition officially begins tomorrow with the first dressage test, the horse inspection –which
admittedly is less well known by the public– is very important nevertheless.

Each of the riders‘ horses are
evaluated and are authorized -or not- to take part in the competition. As a result, the riders who have entered
this Generali CICO 3* and their horses filed in and out of the Spring Garden arena at 5 p.m. in front three
judges : François Belz (FRA), Michel Asseray (FRA) and Julio Pocci (ITA).

In the end, after the inspection the majority of horses were deemed fit to compete. With regard to the leading
French and/ or international riders' horses (cf. the 2nd and 3rd press releases), there were no huge disruptions
apart from 2 horses which were not presented (Dunges Laurent Rose, the 2nd horse of Clayton Fredericks –
AUS, who is 12th in the World Rankings and Ilex Bey, Eric Vigeanel’s horse). As they were absent, they will not
be able to take part in the competition.

Although Tankers Town, Sharon Hunt’s horse (who was bronze medal winner in the team event at the Olympic Games in Beijing) was entered for the CICO 3*, it was not brought to Fontainebleau.

Lastly, two horses did not pass the inspection, Homélia de Gode (Pierrick Kervaut – FRA) and Ulysse (Frederico
Serra – POR).

Therefore, there will be 91 riders taking part with their horses in this first Official International Eventing
Competition (out of the 96 who had initially entered the competition).

On the agenda today there is the first part of the dressage test at 8.30 am in the main arena.
