Built on what is the pit stop area for the world famous Monaco Formula One Grand Prix, the show jumping arena has a backdrop of the castle in one direction and the yachts of Port Hercule in the other. The world's top 30 riders have been invited and will all be aiming to prevent America's Richard Spooner riding off with a third consecutive victory in the Grand Prix of Monaco, which carries 300'000Euro total prize money.

Amongst his opponents include Sweden's Olympic silver medallist Rolf Goran Bengsston, fresh from his victory in Rotterdam's CSIO 5* Grand Prix and two of the ladies who helped the USA to a win in the Nations Cup there, Lauren Hough and Laura Kraut. France will be sending European Champion Kevin Staut as well as several other riders and current World ranked number one Pius Schwizer will be representing European team champions Switzerland along with his team mate Daniel Etter. Portugal will be sending Luciana Diniz ranked 9th the Golobal Chamions Tour Ranking 2010.

For 2010 there is a Euro 1'000'000 Bonus scheme which the riders ranked 1-18, best seven GP results to count, will share. Currently the standings are headed by Germany's Marco Kutscher.
