Every year a new, the Herwart von der Decken-Show represents the grand opening of the International Dressage and Show Jumping Festival.
In 2013, the top event will shine in a special splendour: The Herwart von der Decken-Prize will be given to honour the best mare family, a family competition that is only held every four years!
Approx. 100 three-year-old mares will come together to compete on Verden's most famous catwalk. The individual regional breeding districts will send their best representatives to attend this hippological highlight. Besides, each of the eight regional breeding districts is entitled to nominate an outstanding mare family for the Herwart von der Decken-Show with the breeding clubs Stade and Lueneburg being entitled to nominate each two families.
The Hanoverian Mare Show will be held in two divisions * dressage and show jumping * with the free jumping under the open sky always being the fascinating highlight. One division will be exclusively reserved to halfbred mares.
To emphasize the importance of the Show and in order to present it in a convenient setting, the Herwart von der Decken-Show will not be held in the World Championship Arena this year, but in the Grand Prix-Arena. This is the reason why the main ticket counter at the Lindhooper Straße/corner Berliner Ring will be opened on August 7. The Herwart von der Decken-Show will start at 10.00 am.
