The opening day is close now and the countdown has begun for the beginning of the Barcelona Dressage Tour.
There will be TOP level International Dressage competition from the 18th to the 30th of March with a 3* and 4* CDI with huge participation and with many elite riders. We are 24h away from the start date of the CDI3*, the first of the two international competitions and the expectation is great! The first horses are arriving at Can Alzina; the Barcelona Dressage Tour has 218 participants in its debut with a “full house”. There is no room for more horses in both weeks of competition. Here is the complete list of the participants. Sponsored by Banc Sabadell, Mango and Audi Superwagen, this event kicks off on Wednesday the 19th with the Veterinarian Inspection.
Everything is ready at Can Alzina; many novelties await the riders that come from far away. For example the Finnish are travelling nonetheless than 5000 km to get to Barcelona! The warm temperatures and the sun that has finally come out seem to accompany the last preparations for the event. Please find attached the list of entries.
Many of the foreign competitors come drawn by the warm climate, to start out the season with an outdoor with a great atmosphere and a total of 12 FEI 5* judges; and not only this, but also with some of the judges that are confirmed for the WEG.
It has been a real challenge, we are counting on 115 Spanish riders and 103 foreign riders, the 4* is certainly an ambitious goal, that draws many, but not all.There will be 18 nationalities represented in these competitions: Germany, France, Great Britain, Holland, Belgium, Bermudas, Portugal, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Columbia, Spain..etc
There are many novelties awaiting at Can Alzina: the Holding Box has been completely renovated and even the boxes have new watering systems… more surprises and innovations to come! We will tell you about all of them some other day.
