Sa Coeur wins World Championships in Verden

The rider was happy and relieved: Eva Möller (Hagen a.T.W.) rode the 2012 World Champion Sa Coeur by Sir Donnerhall – Don Davidoff to another World Championship-title.

Now at the age of six, the dark-brown Oldenburg horse displayed the same outstanding quality than last year, only his rider was a bit displeased in the Final. “I made mistakes because I tried some changes, and he was a bit confused about it all. It was my fault, and I was not sure whether it would be sufficient to win the title,” the professional rider explained. Young dressage horses are her specialty.

The gelding, bred by the Gestüt Lewitz, won his second World Championship-title with a final score of 9.2. He primarily convinced with his overall impression, but also with his walk and his trot. The World Championship Final of six-year-old dressage horses was in fact a competition between the German warmblood breeds: Three Oldenburg horses, two Westphalians, two Hanoverians, two Dutch KWPN-horses and one Mecklenburger occupied the first ten places. Jan Pedersen was a bit disappointed about this fact as there was more international competition in the Final of five-year-old horses the day before. Dr. Klaus Miesner, Head of the Breeding Department of the German National Equestrian Federation (FN), saw things differently, however, he emphasized how much the variety of breeding associations and nations has been increasing. The six-year-old Championship-horses came from 13 different studbooks, the five-year-olds were registered with 12 different breeding associations. Riders from 20 different nations competed at the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses in Verden.

Damon’s Delorange is the name of the silver medalist. World Cup-winner Helen Langehanenberg from Havixbeck presented the Damon Hill – Rubin-Royal-daughter in Verden, just as Damon’s Satellite. „I love Dami’s progeny. They all exhibit his potential in the walk, trot and canter,“ was Langehanenberg’s statement. She also rode her Olympic horse Damon Hill to a World Championship-title in Verden.

Horse and rider completed the test with a final score of 8.92
Discovery by Dimaggio – Classiker trotted from a 14th place in the qualifier to the bronze medal in the World Championship-Final. The chestnut horse comes from the Oldenburg studbook. With a final score of 8.8 in the Final, Discovery successfully lived up to expectations he had raised before the World Championships.

The winner of the qualifier, Doubleyou W by Don Romantic and his rider Laura Stigler (Düsseldorf) failed to find their top form in the Final. Their presentation did not match the performances in the qualifier, the Hanoverian finished seventh with a final score of 8.42.
