Sa Coeur wins World Championships in Verden

Sa Coeur is French and means either “his heart” or “her heart”, and today, Sa Coeur conquered many hearts in Verden.

The Oldenburg gelding by Sir Donnerhall – Don Davidoff won the World Breeding Dressage Championships for five-year-old horses with a final score of 9.38 under the cautious direction of Eva Möller (Hagen a.T.W.). Sa Coeur impressed with composure and even earned the perfect score of 10 for his walk. Commentator Marietta Sanders van Gansewinkel from the Netherlands was obviously enthusiastic when she said: “A really amazing horse!” This is also the opinion of Eva Möller who already won a medal at the World Breeding Dressage Championships last year. She likes “her” Sa Coeur for his three most captivating qualities: “He is uncomplicated, shows above-average movement and is attached to humans – he is always attentive, looks at his rider, always with a positive attitude …” And this is exactly how Sa Coeur impressed the audience in the crowded WC-stadium in Verden.

The new World Champion scored 9.6 for his trot, 8.9 for his canter, 8.8 for submissiveness and 9.6 for general impression. Eva Möller has been riding the bay gelding for a short while only. “I rode him the first time ten weeks ago, and I immediately thought – yes!” Sa Coeur was bred by the Gestüt Lewitz of Paul Schockemöhle and is owned by the Hof Kasselmann KG. Ullrich Kasselmann, member of the DOKR dressage committee, was more than satisfied when he received the award on behalf of the breeder from WBFSH President Jan Pedersen.

Second finished the Westphalian stallion Revolverheld by Rockwell – Landstreicher who was presented by Ann-Christin Wienkamp (Mesum), receiving a final score of 8.98. The smart lady rider has only been riding the Vice World Champion for six weeks. Maria and Heinz Könemann are the breeders of Revolverheld who is now owned by an owner’s alliance.

The bronze medal of the World Breeding Dressage Championships for five-year-old horses went to the Netherlands. Duval’s Capri Sonne jr. is a shiny black KWPN-stallion by Rhodium – San Remo, and Dinja van Liere (Netherlands) presented him in Verden. The young woman has been riding the stallion for one year now, and she was pleasantly surprised: “I haven’t expected it like this, my goal was to come here and to simply ride a good test!” But sometimes goals finally lead to noble medals.

Duval’s Capri Sonne jr. was rewarded with a final score of 8.94, ranking just behind Revolverheld. The KWPN-stallion excelled in the canter for which he got a score of 9.4. Breeder of the stallion are Steijn and R. van der Vliet, owner is J.C. van der Endt.

WBFSH President Jan Pederson was satisfied with both, the internationality of competitors and the quality of judgment. “I am pleased to state that the focus at the World Breeding Dressage Championships and at the Olympics in London is not the spectacular, but the age-appropriately, well ridden horse.”
