Riders from Portugal shine in the Sun Circuit

The XII edition of the Sun Circuit started today in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, with classes reserved for the young horses.

The first class for 5 year olds had 61 combinations, 37 completed the course with clear rounds. António Frutuoso de Melo on Ucrania and Marina Frutuoso de Melo on Viono de Sofelguera had clear rounds and shared the first place with 35 combinations.

The second event for 6 year olds had 82 entries. 55 horses cleared the course and once again António Frutuoso de Melo on Uri de Sofelguera and Marina Frutuoso de Melo on Toddy managed clear courses and shared the first place.

The day ended with the 7 year old class. 57 entries and 24 clear rounds. Felipe Malta da Costa on Picobelle de Valde Geer with a clear course shared the 1st place.

Approximately 1400 horses are entered in the Sun Circuit this year. As from the third week of the competition, participating riders may opt to qualify for the WEG in Aachen.
