The riding horse competitions – especially for the young stallions – is one of the spectator favourites at the Trakehner Federal Show in Hanover's Riding Stadium and one which caused a especially large commotion.
The four year old Millenium, by Easy Game-Ravel, the reserve champion of the 2010 approvals, was awaited with great interest and didn't disappoint the spectators: The black stallion, owned by the Sprehe Stud and the Saxony Stud Management, won the stallion competition with the remarkable note 9.39. The judges pulled the highest note 10 for the canter and a 10 was also given for the age appropriate presentation by the Moritzburg Stud rider Kay Pawlowska.
A score of 8.92 for the second place: Herbstkonig, by Interconti-Timber. The reserve champion Trakehner ridden by Theresa Wahler (GER) was already the 2011 Trakehner Champion. The third place went to the Impetus son, Mescalero, and Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn (GER) with a note of 8.49. It will be exciting on Sunday morning when the Trakehner Champions 2012 will be named in the final riding horse competitions of the Federal Show.
While the young Trakehners are just at the beginning of their careers, the four-legged candidates in the difficult competitions already have show experience. For example, the dark bay Trakehner stallion Finckenstein, by Latimer-Kennedy. The ten year old stallion, which calls Denmark home, won the Prix St. Georges with Rikke Svane (DEN). The Danish duo won the difficult dressage competition with 69.03%. The two year younger black Trakehner Banderas, by Hibiskus-Kostolany, finished in second place with Tanja Sauerwald (GER) and a score of 66.66%.
