The May Auction will be held in Verden on May 2 and 3. 115 riding horses for dressage, show jumping, pleasure riding and eventing purposes will be offered for sale.
The dressage, show jumping and pleasure horses will arrive in Verden on Tuesday, April 22, and following a short period to settle in, they will be officially presented the first time on Saturday, April 26, as of 9.00 am. The presentation on Sunday, April 27, will be recorded by the video company Kunstwerk and published on the Internet on Monday, April 28.
The dressage collection features 79 riding horses. It is a tradition that a special dressage youngster shows up as the number one of the auction. This time, it will be Fels by Fürstenreich/Rotspon, a licensed and performance tested Premium stallion. The sport stallion who came out a winner in riding horse ability classes was bred by Alfred Reimmann, Oer-Erkenschwick, and is exhibited by Otto-Rudolf Fuchs from Meinerzhagen. The show jumping collection will be as impressive. Finja by First Pleasure/Stolzenberg (breeder: Heinrich Beutner, Meinersen) is a special futurity prospect, featuring everything successful jumpers require. Auction Manager Jörg-Wilhelm Wegener is satisfied with the composition of the collection as all horses are of outstanding quality, combined with super rideability and an excellent training level that will appeal to customers from all over the world. An interesting mixture of traditional and approved bloodline combinations, but there will also be young, modern stallions represented by their progeny.
A show jumping prospect with the name affix “Townhead” has been attracting much attention in the last weeks and can be seen on the front page of the May Auction catalogue. Townhead Chaka Chaka is the name of the winner of the 2014 Vilamoura Atlantic Tour. The mare shined in the division of six-year-old horses in all rounds and came out overall winner. The Check In/Sevillano xx-daughter was bred by Heinrich Gelze from Lingen and sold to Great Britain at the 2012 May Auction.
The auction horses will be ridden during public training by their auction riders every day under the supervision of Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen and Hartmut Kettelhodt with potential customers having the opportunity to inspect and to test their favourite horse. The auction will be held on Saturday, May 3, as of 3.00 pm.
