The début of German Matthias Alexander Rath and Totilas is watched with high interest by the complete equestrian world. Today Thursday, the new pair will enter the show arena at the Pferd International in Munich, Germany.
The black stallion’s last internantional competition were the WEG in Kentucky. In Munich, Totilas will be shown in the three-star Grand Prix at the Pferd International 2011. The competition will start at 11.00 a.m. Rath will face competition from Isabell Werth, Ulla Salzgeber and Nadine Capellmann. Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer, Dutch rider Hans-Peter Minderhoud and Sweden’s Patrik Kittel have registered both for the three-star tour as well as for the five-star World Dressage Masters.
In Munich, the World Dressage Masters will take place, but Rath is not allowed to compete in this tour. WDM director John van de Laar said: ‘To compete in the WDM a combination should have 64% or more at least two times. Rath did not compete Totilas before, so the rules are the rules even when we regret this’.
