Ludo Philippaaerts wins the big class in Casas Novas

Asturian rider Leonardo Medal aboard Tres Coronas Mariachi won yesterday afternoon the Mostoles Industrial Trophy. This was the first of the nine classes which make up the 15th edition of the International Show-Jumping Competition of Casas Novas. Historically speaking, Spanish rider Medal holds the lead of victories in this competition.

He clocked a time of 50,28 seconds, which confirms his spectacular competitiveness and speed. Medal is one of the highest specialists in A scale classes without jump-off, like this one.

The winner was accompanied in the podium by the Chilean rider Tomás Couve, who made the round with the horse Libra 4 in 51,52 seconds, and the Spanish Luis Astolfi and his horse Caramelo, who reached a time mark of 53,49 seconds.

JESSICA KUERTEN WINS NH HOTELS TROPHY

The second tour of the International Show-Jumping of Casas Novas was headed by the the winner of the final Top Ten in Geneva, Irish Jessica Kuerten riding Kalande Des Grez. The horsewoman turned in an unbeatable time of 28,23 seconds.

Completing his performance in 29,45 seconds, the Belgian Ludo Philippaerts with Sam was given the second position of this tour consisting of two phases. The third and fourth positions went to the Spanish riders Rutherford Latham with Jaina de Barnevil and Luis Astolfi with Nastois de Bosqueatiu, who marked times of 30,40 and 32,26 seconds respectively. It was the Dutch Gerco Schröder mounting Eurocommerce Acapulco who was fifth position.

Only 15 out of 50 riders were able to finish their performances without picking up any point in the two phases of the tour. This is an indicator of the high difficulty of this NH Hotels Trophy.

THE AZKAR TROPHY FINISHES WITH A BELGIAN VICTORY

The winner's podium was given to Ludo Philippaerts of Belgium in the Azkar Trophy. Mounting Tauber VH Kapelhof, the Belgian finished his performance in 50,60 seconds. Second and third position went to two French riders, Robert Breul and Engenie Angot, who finished their round two and three seconds later than Philippaerts respectively.
