Leon Thijssen takes the Madrid Grand Prix
Dutch rider Leon Thijssen Leon riding “Olaf” clinched a victory in the Madrid City Council Grande Prix, snatching the coveted prizemoney of 50, 000 euros. The French Patrice Delaveau and “Jumpy des Fontaines” finished second and Robert Whitaker was third with “Lacroix 9”.
Once again, the Grand Prix of the Madrid City Council raised a tremendous sense of expectation among the equestrian fans who crowded the green field of the Club de Campo Villa of Madrid. Among the public was welll known Infant Elena and Don Jaime de Marichalar, as well as numerous members of the municipal corporation of the City council of Madrid. The prize was presented by the mayor of Madrid, Mr Alberto Ruiz Gallardón.
Victory for the dutch rider Piet Raijmakers.
The eighth competition of the International Show Jumping Event Madrid 2006 was for the Dutch Piet Raijmakers riding “Van Schijndel´s Now or Never”. The rider obtained 65 points in a time of 48 seconds. He won a 3,500 euros in prizemoney. Belgian Francois Mathy with “Undercover Agent – Holst” finished in sencond followed by his compatriot Ludo Philippaerts, with “Narcotique”.
3rd victory for French rider Roger Yves Bost.
The present edition of the International Show Jumping Event Madrid 2006 will be, no doubt, difficult to forget for the French rider Roger Yves Bost, who wit the “National Atesa Trophy ” obtained his third victory in this international.
