Recently at the Global Dressage Forum the Dutch ‘Rabobank Talentenplan’ was presented. Part of this plan that scouts and develops talents is the election of the best Talent of the year.
The choice was a difficult one, as the double European gold winner at Junior level Lotje Schoots was chosen by the Dutch horseworld, while the trainers and the media had a slight preference for Laurens van Lieren, being part of the silver medal winning team at the EC in Hagen. In the end, 23-year old Laurens van Lieren became the winner of the title Rabobank Talent of the Year 2005.
