Jessica Springsteen becomes an «equestrian ambassador» for Gucci

The luxury brand Gucci has just hired Jessica Springsteen — Bruce’s 22-year-old daughter — as an “equestrian ambassador” for its line of riding clothes.

“Jessica is a great horsewoman, with a very exciting and positive riding style,” says Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini. “Jessica brings the elegant, dynamic spirit of Gucci alive. … The design of this new wardrobe provides her with pieces that manage to be both technically correct and stylish.”

Springsteen is joining Gucci’s equestrian team that includes socialite Charlotte Casiraghi.

Since Giannini replaced Tom Ford atop the Gucci design team in 2004, the house has returned to its roots in the equestrian world, including sponsoring a key international riding competition attended by socialites and celebrities.

For the new riding collection, Giannini searched through the Gucci archives from 2008 and used the 1950s-era Gucci crest, which shows an armored knight holding a suitcase and bag instead of a sword and shield. Giannini incorporated the crest into Springsteen’s shirts, blazers and saddle bags, among other pieces in the collection.
