Jessica Kürten Suffers Defeat At Appeal Court

In a court procedure between Lady Georgina Forbes (Ireland) and Jessica Kürten (Ireland) the regional appeal court in Düsseldorf, Germany has decided in favour of Lady Georgina Forbes. Therefore, the Irish show jumper Jessica Kürten is obliged to return the five jumping horses Libertina, Cosma, Vivaldo, Paddington and Myrtille Paulois to the owner, Lady Georgina Forbes. Beforehand, Jessica and her husband Eckart had refused to hand over the horses and had won at first instance. They explained their refusal with supposed claims in the millions.

Subsequently Lady Georgina Forbes and Irish jumper Jessica Kürten have come to a mutual agreement. After the regional court of Duisburg, Germany rejected the request for a provisional order in January 2011, a settlement could be reached now.

It has been decided that Jessica Kürten has to return the five horses Libertina, Myrtille Paulois, Cosma, Vivaldo and Paddington. In return Lady Forbes has to effect a deposit for security at a value of 300,000 Euros.
