The dressage sire Jazz will be honoured as Horse of the Year 2006 on Saturday at the Stallion Show.
That makes him the fourth approved stallion in a row to earn that title. Concorde, Manno en Nassau managed to do the same.
Jazz earned the title because of his influence as a dressage sire. Last year, his first offspring were produced at Grand Prix level at international shows. In the national shows his offspring dominate the rankings. At the end of last year, Jazz was awarded preferent status. Besides his daughters that are doing very well at keurings, he has seven approved sons.
He displays the uphill conformation that assists him in the outstanding paces he displays. This was shown in his Performance Test when he was the only stallion to get 9.5 for his trot. Currently he competes at Grand Prix under the saddle of Tineke Bartels. At their first World Cup, in Amsterdam, Jazz obtained 74%.
Friday evening Jazz will participate in the special dressage shows at the Stallion Show in Den Bosch. Of course he will also enter the arena on Saturday together with several of his succesful descendants. His breeder Huib van Helvoirt will be presented the Nimmerdor Trophy.
