Istambul: Children's Show Jumping – Portugal claimed 4th place in the Nation's Cup

In a thrilling jump-off in the grounds of Istanbul's luxury Kemel Country Club yesterday evening (Friday), Portugal's team to compete in a European Children's Championship claimed the 4th position at the Nations' Cup.

The Championships are confined to children aged 14 and under, and they must ride horses, rather than ponies.

Portugal and Italy both ended up with four faults and after the jump-off, with the Italians taking the Bronze Medal on the faster time.

After the first round, the British youngsters shared the lead with Ireland and Italy, all three teams sitting pretty on a zero score, however after a nail biting second round and the last fence down for both of the opposing teams meant the Gold Medal was in the bag for Britain. Silver went to Ireland.
