Isabell Werth at the top in Neumünster

Isabell Werth from Germany won the qualification of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Grand Prix de Dressage at the VR Classics in Neumünster. The five times Olympic champion won aboard her eleven year old gelding El Santo NRW with a score of 77,21 percent. The pair will be number 14, as the second last exhibitor in the Grand Prix freestyle on Sunday.

“I am very satisfied” said the happy winner, who wants to collect energy for the World Cup final in s’Hertogenbosch in April.

The same concept counts for Helen Langehanenberg and her stallion Damon Hill NRW. They were placed second in the Grand Prix – the price of Madeleine Winter-Schulze. “Today was great, I felt very good. Only on the closing line I probably felt too comfortable and made a mistake. So this was my own fault” says the rider, who won a silver team medal at the European Championships.

A cheerful Dane was placed on rank 3 – Lone Jörgensen – who started her ten year old gelding “De Vito” rather surprisingly in the World Cup and enjoyed her success with many friends and fans, as she has been living in Baden Württemberg (Germany) for many years.

Australia’s Hayley Berseford, the sole non-European in the class, placed 11th Belissimo on 67.298 per cent. This was only the second CDI competition for Hayley and the 13-year-old Rhinelander stallion whom she is campaigning for a place on the Australian team at the London Olympics this summer.
