Portuguese rider Gonçalo Carvalho confirmed his good shape winning the first test of the second and last international dressage competition at Montenmedio´s Sunshine Tour.
The day started with the most important test of the journey. First test out five today, the ‘Grand Prix’ was a great start of what will be an exciting dressage weekend, and ended once again with a Portuguese win. Gonçalo Carvalho got the victory aboard ‘Rubi’ after scoring 73’660%. French Jessica Michel finished second with ‘Riwera de Hus’, and local rider José Daniel Martín Dockx was third with ‘Grandioso’
Freire Boaventura didn’t manage to qualify among firsts positions in the main test today, but got the victory in the ‘Owners Grand Prix’ riding ‘Wonder Light’, showing he is an opponent to be considered for international competitions. Finnish Emma Kanerva was second with ‘Equestricons et Voila’, and Russian Tatiana Sleptsova finished in third place with her horse ‘Amazing’.
Meanwhile, German Tara Schneider with ‘Little Diamond 11′, Portuguese Luis Gomes riding ‘Relevancy’, and Aline Kemps aboard ‘Scampiolo’ were the winners of Young Riders test, Juniors Team test and Ponies test, respectively.
Tomorrow, previous day to the big Sunshine Dressage Tour Final, competition will start with the Intermediate Test. Juniors, young riders, ponies and Consolation Grand Prix events will be taking place next.
