First International Dressage Forum for the Purebred Lusitano

From antiquity to Olympic victory, the Lusitano Horse in International dressage competition at the threshold of the XXI Centry.

The Lusitano is one of man’s ancient saddle horses. It’s unique quality and beauty, combined with and overwhelming talent and readability, makes him one of Portugal’s most secret and extraordinary treasures.

The international expansion and projection of the Lusitano has contributed to make him one of Portugal’s most cherished ambassadors.
Fascinating and conquering, admired on a worldwide dimension, from amateurs to the most distinguished professional riders and also investors.

In the Highest level of Olympic Dressage the Lusitano finds its true vocation due to its artistic and war history. To prove this look at the Beijing Olympic Games 2008, where there was seven Lusitanos competing, the second most represented breed, although participation is not the same thing as winning.

The aim of this Forum, organized by the Portugal Dressage Academy and Lusófona University (the leading Educational group in Portugal, is to
integrate the most advanced knowledge (scientific, technical and practical) and by promoting experiences through the participation of the best international scientists, Dressage Judges, Trainers, Olympians and worldclass competition riders, contributing to a better knowledge of the Lusitano and therefore improving it as a Dressage competitor.

In order to achieve its purpose, the forum is organized in four structural and thematic areas: Breeding, Riding and Training, Competing and Marketing & Business opportunities, with theory and practical sessions, inviting participation of all worldwide Lusitano Breed Associations and Lusitano fans, who appreciate, cherish and promote the Lusitano.
