FEI European Jumping Championship for Juniors and Young Riders

The 2006 FEI European Jumping Championship for Juniors and Young Riders will be held at the Olympic Equestrian Centre in Markopoulo, Greece, from 6 to 9 July. This is the second time that a European Championship is being organised by the Hellenic Equestrian Federation. The first time was back in 1994, when the European Jumping Championship for Juniors was held at the National Equestrian Centre in Athens.

This year’s venue played host to the equestrian events of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

A record number of 30 countries have announced their participation in this year’s Championship. Eleven nations will be represented by both individual competitors and teams; France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Sweden, Portugal and Spain are among the countries that have already entered teams in both the Junior and Young Rider Category. The host nation Greece will also participate with full teams in both categories for the first time. The total prize money distributed will be EUR 60.000.
