Dream Boy impresses in Verden

It is a novelty at the FEI World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses in Verden. Three sons of the Dutch stallion Vivaldi occupied the places one to three in the qualifier for the FEI World Championships of six-year-old dressage horses: Dream Boy, Dancer Forever and Desperado! All three stallions descend from different dams, but apart from their producer, they have obviously more things in common: their convincing canter and fantastic overall impression.

The winner Dream Boy out of a Ferro-dam was presented by Gerdine Maree in Verden, wining the contest with 29 participating horses in total with a final score of 8.84. The canter was the most dominating feature of the black stallion, he showed more submissiveness than his half brothers and delivered an above-average overall impression. Second place went to the chestnut stallion Dancer Forever and Kirsten Brouwer, with 8.82 only slightly behind the winner. The trot and the canter are the most impressive properties of the son of a Tango-dam. And the third Vivaldi-progeny followed in third place with a final mark of 8.76: Desperado out of a Havidoff-dam under Emmelie Scholtens. She already presented a number of young horses at FEI World Championships-finals in Verden. He is also a black horse, just as the winner Dream Boy.

This result is a big success for the Dutch breeding association KWPN even though the WC-Final will only be decided on Sunday at the international tournament area in Verden. Fourth place went to the Danish Romanov-son Rossetti under Jan Möller-Christensen and fifth finished another Dutch horse, Dorado by Krack – Rousseau under Emmelie Scholtens. The best horse from the German warmblood breed only came in sixth place, Auheim’s Del Magico by Dimaggio, a Hanoverian stallion, presented in Verden by the Austrian rider Stephanie Dearing.

The start lists of participants at the WC-finals are almost complete now. The best twelve horses of the WC-opening competitions of both age-groups already qualified for the Final, with the five- as well as with the six-year-old horses. Each three starting places will still be given to horses competing in the so-called small finals.

Meanwhile, the show jumping stadium and Grand Prix-arena are firmly in the hands of international participants. Yesterday evening, the Irish rider Eoin McMahon won the first qualifier of the medium tour with the Irish stallion Griffin. The two Lower Saxonian riders Gerd Sosath (Lemwerder) and Hartwig Rohde (Werlte) participated at this classical jumping contest, finishing second and third, just as team World Champion Carsten-Otto Nagel (Wedel) with his Derby-horse Lex Lugar. The Oldenburg horse loves big sandy show jumping courses. Following the fifth place in the opening competition, the duo finished third in the second qualifier. Rohde won with Havinga’s Amando, followed by the current Lower Saxonian National Champion Mynou Diederichsmeier (Ganderkesee) and Danthes H.

Thomas Müller has to pass – Federal Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen is riding the quadrille
Soccer World Champion Thomas Müller, currently in the US, and wife Lisa Müller, attending the Festival in Verden, will be given a foal by the Hannoveraner Verband. A Zack-De Niro-daughter. It was Müller’s original intention to receive this gift together with his wife on the occasion of the Gala Evening of the International Dressage and Show Jumping Festival. However, because of the tight schedule, it will be impossible for the scorer to be in Verden in time on Saturday. With the result that Lisa Müller, Bavarian Vice Champion, will meet the noble Hanoverian foal the first time without her husband.

The Organizing Committee of the Dressage and Show Jumping Festival asked Federal Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, to mount a horse. This is nothing new for her, but it will be the first time that she will ride a quadrille under floodlight with other former auction riders. Von der Leyen belonged to the Verden auction team as a young girl, and flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to new horses are a duty. Rainer Kiel, head of the Organizing Committee, rounded some former riders from the auction team up to show a quadrille. When and whether the choreography was ever trained remains the secret of the participants. They have already been fast and flexible in former days….
