Daniel Deusser winner of the Kauppalehti Grand Prix

The young Daniel Deusser from Germany won the Kauppalehti Grand Prix with Upsilon D´Ocquier with a clear round in 42,46 seconds. Deusser was especially pleased with his horse, and also thanked the course designer Guilherme Jorge for creating an exciting competition.

Lotta Schultz and Calibra II were second with only 0,12 seconds slower. But what really made the crowd cheering was the Finn Noora Pentti who came third. Pentti rode Navarro fluently around with out taking too many risks and it paid off in a nice way. – I was supposed to turn inside to number three but didn´t make it. This time it might have been better that way, she smiled.

Fences number three and four were causing most trouble in the second round. Sixteen out of 50 starters made it to the second round, and seven riders were double clear. The Grand Prix together with Friday´s World Cup qualifier decide the not prequalified riders for Sunday. A total of 40 riders will start in the seasons second FEI World Cup qualifier tomorrow.
