At the Danish Warmblood Elite Show the judges chose the 3-year-old mare Cleo VH as Jumping Mare of the Year in Danish Warmblood 2013.
The newly graded mares has been the focus point today at the Danish Warmblood Elite Show where breeders' medals in gold, silver and bronze have been awarded and the dressage and jumping mare of the year have been proclaimed.
Today the jumping mares where shown in free jumping, and as always it was a pleasure to experience the young mares knowledgeably commented by the breeding committee’s jumping specialist, Johnny Hansen. After seeing the mares in free jumping the judges chose two mares for the Gold Ring: “Cleo VH” by Clinton I / Coronado / Caretino owned and bred by René & Lotte Heyde, and “Castana Sem” by Tailormade Lancelot / Charmeur / Tango owned and bred by Esben Pedersen.
Both finalists stood out as incredibly appealing models where both type and functionality were top notch, and both mares were of course also awarded the breeders' medal in gold. Cleo VH was appointed Jumping Mare of the Year in Danish Warmblood 2013.
– She is a modern jumping mare, which is large framed, well-shaped and harmonious, and she has a roomy and energetic canter and she jumps very rationally with a quick response and a very, very big, said breeding consultant Karina Christiansen.
Today a total of 40 breeders' medals were awarded: 20 bronze medals, 15 silver medals and five gold medals.
