The 4-year-old mare Casablanca by Clearway was sold for 145.000 Euro.
Breitenburg-based Bo Kristoffersen had the longer wind in a long battle of the bids with clients from the Rhineland: He purchased the 4-year-old mare Casablanca by Clearway out of Muvie-Star by Cheenook-Cicero (mare family 737) bred by Thies Meyer, Helse, and owned by the Holsteiner Verband, Elmshorn, for 145.000 Euro.
The Dane buying on behalf of Paul Bücheler from Switzerland said the mare is supposed to join the stable of international show jumper Beat Mändli.
Casablanca has well-known relatives, sharing a maternal granddam with Cristallo by Caretino, who is one of the most successful jumpers in the US under Richard Spooner. Clients from Hamburg who had already bought a horse at the Neumünster auction 20 years ago, paid 100.000 Euro for Cedira by Casall out of Maria II by Concerto II-Lord (mare family 390) bred and consigned by Timm Peters, Bargenstedt to smooth their daughter's way into competition since the the 6-year-old mare has already achievements in young show jumper classes at L and M level.
Castillo by Cardino out of Medea I by Larno-Caletto I (mare family 18B1) bred by Heiko Dettmann, Bordesholm, and consigned byWilfried Wiederer, Wonfurt, has results to M level over the jumps, and was purchased for 85.000 Euro on behalf of clients from Turkey. The 32 riding horses sold for an average of 40.891 Euro, 11.000 Euro more than last year's average. Accordingly, auction manager Christian Hess was very pleased. “This has shown that we are on the right way with our careful and uncompromising selection of the auction horses.”
