Since 2001, the KWPN Select Sale has been the exciting “closing act” of the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson.
This year, Mr. Witte and Mr. Van Olst of the KWPN Select Sale selection committee for dressage horses have planned a special opening for the elite auction: the opportunity to bid on a breeding to the stallion Charmeur! Even more special is that all proceeds from this unique auction item will benefit the DVB Foundation, which Coby and Marlies van Baalen founded to help riders with disabilities.
Olympic equestrienne Coby van Baalen believes that we cannot do enough for those less fortunate than us. “I don't have to emphasize to this audience how much enjoyment we get from our horses. Everyone should be able to experience that enjoyment. For someone with a serious disability, riding is often even more special: it's the only way to get out of a wheelchair. On a horse, a person is free of a wheelchair or crutches – and experiences that a horse has healthy legs for everyone. A horse doesn't discriminate! It's unique how some horses respond to riders with a disability,” she says emphatically.
Coby is very pleased that the KWPN Select Sale at the KWPN Stallion Show powered by Massey Ferguson is supporting the DVB Foundation's goal: “It's fantastic that the KWPN is also linked to a social goal.”
The breeding to the KWPN-stallion Charmeur will be offered by Nico Witte, Barend Tamerus, and Joop van Uytert at the KWPN Select Sale on February 2nd.
The Van Baalen family is also grateful for past offers of stallion breedings to benefit the DVB Foundation.
