The Portuguese rider Boaventura Freire has had an outstanding performance to win both finals today. Sunshine Dressage Tour 2012 sees its crucial moment; tomorrow will take place the most expected international dressage competition.
Level is getting higher and higher at Cadiz premises, and there are great expectations ahead the big weekend in Montenmedio. Best international riders will be competing for both Sunshine Dressage Tour title and a place in 2012 London Olympic Games.
Seville Juan Manuel Munoz Diaz and his spectacular Spanish Purebred “Fuego” arrived in Montenmedio with big hopes. Member of Spanish national team, the local rider had an excellent performance in the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky 2010, sneaking among the top dressage international riders.
Regarding the competition today, there were no big surprises. Portuguese Boaventura Freire confirmed his good record in 2012 Sunshine Tour winning both finals. Freire got the gold medal in the 5 years final with the horse ‘Sai Baba Plus’ and a score of 76.80%. Spanish Jose Daniel Martin Dockx finished second riding ‘Vaquero hgf’, and amazon Brigitte Van der Hagen completed the podium with ‘Sir Barnaby’.
In horses 6 years final, Portuguese Boaventura Freire swept to victory again, this time riding “Fürst Plus”. His compatriot Gonçalo Carvalho finished second with ‘Bariloche’, and Spaniard Yassine El Ouahhaby was third.
Previously today it took place the St. George National Grand Prix’. French Jessica Michel, one of the favorites for the final title, finished first and third with ‘Daimler de Hus’ and ‘Socrate of Hus’. Belgiam Philippe Jorissen completed the podium with ‘Agneta 17’.
