Beat Mändli for Markus Fuchs

For the IJRC Top-10 Final presented by Rolex on Saturday, 8 December 2007 in Geneva, the Swiss rider Markus Fuchs, currently No 1, has decided to give up his place to his compatriot and first reservist, Beat Mändli, winner of the 2007 Rolex FEI World Cup Final in Las Vegas.

Indeed, as a true fighter, Markus Fuchs does not want to take part in this magnificent Final just for the sake of making an appearance. According to him, Beat Mändli's horses, Idéo du Thot and Indigo IX, are currently far more competitive than his own, Granie and Ovation.

“I have ridden in this Final six times and I have never done very well, even when I had my best horse,” Markus Fuchs explains. “As for Beat, he has two aces and won the Rolex FEI World Cup this year. He deserves to try his luck this time.”

Markus Fuchs will, of course, be taking part in the other competitions at the Geneva International Horse Show which begins this Thursday, 6 December at Geneva Palexpo.
