The leading Irish dressage rider Anna Merveldt who is based in Italy has announced that she will not be travelling to Kentucky.
The reasons for her withdrawal are extensive training commitments in Italy and Germany as well as the high expenses for the trip to Kentucky. Even with the support of Dressage Ireland and HIS the costs will not be covered.
Anna Merveldt and her horse Coryolano will compete at Fritzens-Schindlhof in Austria the coming weekend and at the CHIO Aachen in July.
Merveldt confirmed that Coryolano would be her mount at the European Dressage Championships in La Mandria, Turin, Italy (August 29 to September 2). She described Coryolano as a “very promising horse.”
