200 stallions at Zwolle International

From Wednesday 15 until Sunday 19 March, there will be about two hundred
stallions taking part in Zwolle International. The competition organisers
and visitors can already look forward to an extremely strong field of participants: in both show jumping and dressage there will be the best licensed stallions from various stud books from both home and abroad taking part in the battle for the prestigious titles of Best, Promising, Young and Future Stallion.

The aim of the organisers of the stallion competition is to bring out the best Dutch stallions and a great number of extremely interesting stallions from abroad. There has been massive enrolment amongst Dutch stallion owners.

Under those that will make an appearance in the competition ring are Wim Schröder with Eurocommerce Pennsylvania (sire: Gambrinus) and Eurocommerce Vancouver (sire: Le tot de Semilly), Jeroen Dubbeldam with BMC Rash R (sire: Cash), Jur Vrieling with VDL Montreal (sire: Indoctro) and VDL Oramé (sire: Indoctro) and Wout Jan van der Schans with Broere VDL Pacific (sire: Corland).

Those from abroad that will be taking part in the show jumping are also surprisingly interesting. The renowned Germans Ullrich Kirchhoff and Gerd Sosath will be taking part. Sosath will bring out the stallions Catoki (sire: Cambridge), Quality (sire: Quinar), Chalan (sire: Chambertin) and Albatros (sire: Acord II). The Belgian Dirk Demeersman will also be there with two stallions: Cartier van de Heffinck (sire: Contender) and Contact van de Heffinck (sire: Concept). And not least taking part in Zwolle International is the young German show jumper Torben Köhlbrandt who will bring out, amongst others, Quite Capitol (sire: Quidam de Revel) and Concept (sire: Contender) in the IJsselhallen.

In the Grand Prix dressage for the title of Stad Zwolle Best Stallion, Anky van Grunsven will bring out IPS Krack C (sire: Flemmingh) and IPS Painted Black. IPS Painted Black´s sire, G4S IPS Gribaldi (sire: Kostolany), will also pay his respects in the dressage arena. As well as this, the whole delegation of Dressage Stable van Baalen will also take part.

In the most demanding class, Marlies van Baalen will bring out Laurentianer (sire: Lauries Crusador) and BMC Relevant (sire: Rubinstein) and Coby van Baalen will bring out BMC Kigali (sire: Wolfgang). There will be opposition from abroad in the form of, amongst others, the German Ingrid Klimke with Baykonur and Lafayette Lord (sire: Lord Sinclair), her compatriots Andrea Landy-Silling with Mio D´Baugy (sire: Sheyenne de Baugy) and Andrea Timpe with Danny de Vito (sire: Donnerhall) as well as Marlen Vassil of Finland with the stallion Freestyle (sire: Fason). At present, the dressage sections are chock-a-block: the geldings that are waiting in the wings on the reserve list will, therefore, for the present not be brought out.
