The 7 year old beautiful bay Lusitano stallion, Vulcão dos Pinhais (Luar X Cenoura), of the Stud Farm Alegria dos Pinhais, has been recently purchased from Haras Portucale, by a partnership formed by Boaventura Freire, Paulo Guilherme and the family of Cesar de la Fuente from Spain.
Vulcão is half brother to Peralta dos Pinhais and Relâmpago do Retiro, and is a descendent of two of the most notorious Lusitanos of these last years.
The dam, Cenoura, is also Peralta's dam (3rd place and bronze medal at the 2007 YR FEI World Cup), the sire, Luar is Relâmpago's do Retiro sire (reached the semi-finals at the 2008 Beijing Olimpic Games and was placed 19th in the individual results.)
Luar was the first PSL to compete at the Pan American Games, at San Domingo (2003) and is currently in Mexico. As for the mare Cenoura, one of the highest raking in Brazil, is now a broodmare at the Haras Comando SN, of the breeder Simone Novak, owner of Vulcão for five years.
Having an excellent conformation (compact), the horse is 1,72cm at his withers. Has good natural paces, good walk, good trot, excellent canter and has an aptitude for Dressage.
The stallion arrives in Germany in October and is going to be ridden by Boaventura Freire. One of the purposes besides the sport will be the sale of semen in Portugal and Spain.
At the moment, the horse is in Brazil, on the process of semen collection, where he has a lot of breeding requests.
