Not even a broken foot could hamper the brilliance of Boyd Exell (AUS) and his talented team at the Sweden International Horse Show as they romped to victory in both competitions. At the halfway stage of the series, Boyd has already tallied maximum qualification points in the rankings table.
Dutch legend Ijsbrand Chardon (NED) was smooth and consistent, repeating his performance at the season’s opener to take second place which seals his place behind Boyd in the table and surely assures him of a place in the final.
But Saturday night belonged to third placed Anna Sandmann (GER) who gained a slot in her first FEI Driving World Cup™ drive-off in her first series as a qualified driver. Keeping the dedicated Swedish fans happy, wild card Fredrik Persson (SWE) soared into the drive-off on Friday night to take third place, and only missed out on another drive-off by 0.07.
Completing the line up were Anna’s father, Christoph Sandmann (GER) and Anna Mareike Meier (GER).
