WDM continues in Munich and promises a great dressage experience

The next WDM will be staged in the 'NÜRNBERGER Dressur Arena' at Pferd International in the vibrant city of Munich. Munich, home of the Duchy of Bavaria for over 700 years, will welcome a top starting field from 14 til 17 May. The three WDM classes, the € 10,000 NÜRNBERGER WDM Grand Prix presented by FRB e.V., the € 10,000 Global Dressage Analytics WDM Grand Prix Special presented by the Fürst Fugger Privatbank and the € 70,000 VIAN GROUP WDM Grand Prix Kür presented by NÜRNBERGER Versicherungsgruppe, will offer great sport with top riders and horses.

The USA’s Steffen Peters, 2010 World Championship bronze medalist and 2011 Pan Am Gmes double gold medalist, is in top form and was almost unbeatable in the past summer and winter season in the USA. The USEF Horseman of the Year in 2008, 2009 and 2011 runs a training facility in Arroyo Del Mar, CA, together with his wife Shannon. Steffen is a member of the observation squad, named by the USEF, for the Pan American Games. The squad will compete in designated European CDI observation events and WDM Munich is the first competition for the American dressage riders. Steffen will take his top horses Four Winds Farm's Legolas 92 and Four Winds Farm's Rosamunde to Munich.

Germany will have a strong contigent that will try to hold of the strong competition from abroad. Isabell Werth, the twofold Olympic and World Champion is heading the team to the Olympic facilities. She will be joined by, among others, Ulla Salzgeber, Kristina Sprehe and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl.

Vidauban revelation Gonçalo Carvalho from Portugal will travel to Southern Germany with his talented Lusitano mare Batuta who surprised everybody with his win in the Global Dressage Analytics Grand Prix Special with a personal best score of 77.765 per cent. In Vidauban he had to qualify through the CDI3* Grand Prix for the WDM 5* tour, but in Munich he goes straight into the 5* competitions.

Austria’s leading rider Victoria Max-Theurer, Patrik Kittel (Deja) from Sweden, Italy’s Valentina Truppa, Ukraine’s Inna Logutenkova and Patrick van der Meer for the Netherlands are some other big dressage names who will entertain the public and livestream viewers with their performances.
