The world of show jumping meets at La Baule

From May 15th to 18th, the best riders and horses in the world will gather at the Longines Jumping International of La Baule, which is to horse riding what Roland Garros is to tennis, 6 Nations tournament is to rugby, or the Tour de France is to cycling. Each year, more than 14 million viewers and 27 000 people in the stadium André François follow the performances of the greatest champions of show jumping. 2014 should not fail to tradition, with three different events organized in this new edition with € 580,000 of prize money.

The CSIO 5* of France: 9 classes, € 546 000 of prize money
Twenty nations represented by the best in the discipline, will take part in the only CSIO 5 * in France, the second leg of the European Division 1 of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup series, and also the second leg of FFE French Tour circuit which brings together five 5 stars events (Bordeaux, La Baule, Cannes, Chantilly, Lyon). Three competitions will be the highlights of the CSIO 5 * of France:

– Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup presented by Longines (Friday 16th May 2014, at 1.55pm)
Winners of last year's world final, France will enter with a strong team, who chose La Baule to earn points for the 2014 final in Barcelona (9th-12th October).

– The Derby Meeting of Pays de la Loire (Saturday 17th May 2014 at 1.05pm).

A rare and spectacular event where the riders will compete on a new course, mixing traditional fences and natural fixed fences.

The CSI Invitational: 6 classes, € 34 000 of prize money

These classes, between 1.10m and 1.30m high, will see future riders, some celebrities but also experienced riders take part. While some will prepare the young horses, others will take this opportunity to compete in under the conditions of the high level.

Para-equestrian competitions Cap Atlantique & AMP: 2 classes

These classes scheduled on Friday 16th May at 5.55pm, and Saturday 17th May at 6.30pm, will welcome riders affected by the accidents of life, deprived of leg or arm, deaf, hemiplegia, paraplegia and even blind, a new opportunity to watch these unusual sports men and women while conveying the key messages of integration around a single passion.
