Start to finish victory by Marco Kutscher in the GLOCK’s Perfection Tour

It was with a flourish of equestrian sport that Saturday evening at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER came to an end.

Thirty nine participants entered the second qualification for the GLOCK’s CSI3* Grand Prix. This world ranking list competition, over 1.55 m and with prize money amounting to 28,000 euros, led over 13 obstacles and 15 jumps in the basic round. Those who remained fault-free here gained the opportunity to go for victory on the radically shortened jump-off course.

Fifteen athletes contested the ultimate decision. First to start was twice bronze medal winner at the Olympic Games and three-times European Champion, Marco Kutscher (GER). He had saddled up eleven-year-old Balance, progeny of Baloubet du Rouet, and was therefore on precisely the right horse. Clear on the basic round, clear in the jump-off and a fantastic time of 31.45 seconds – this was the benchmark he set for the competition. But it turned out to be unbeatable.

As the sixth participant in the jump-off, Brazilian Marlon Modoló Zanotelli bet everything on one number. In the saddle on eleven-year-old Extra van Essene (Diamant de Semilly x Gotthardsen), he did everything right and yet, with 31.13 seconds, he couldn’t quite beat Marco Kutscher’s time (2nd place).

Double Olympic winner Michael Jung (GER) was a strong candidate for victory at the end of the field. His only nine-year-old fischerTamarindo jumped as though from another world and, with 32.22 seconds, secured third place for the duo in the CSI3* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour.

As to the question of what chance winner Marco Kutscher might see for himself in tomorrow’s GLOCK’s CSI3* Grand Prix, he opined “Tomorrow I won’t be riding Balance but rather van Gogh, so let’s see what happens. But as to this weekend here at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER, I’m already totally satisfied.”

Styrian Markus Saurugg, in the saddle on his World Championship horse Texas I, also cleared twice and secured sixth place (33.44), with Christian Juza (S) and Never des Etisses following close behind (0/34.67) in eighth place.

Max Kühner (T) and ten-year-old Cornet Kalua, progeny of Cornet Obolensky, achieved a fault-free jump-off in 35.29 seconds to gain tenth place and young Christian Rhomberg from Vorarlberg with Cornetta 13, despite one knockdown, got a final twelfth position (4/33.92).

Martin Fuchs impressed in the CSI3* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour

How exciting it was! Today 46 participants registered in the starting list of the CSI3* GLOCK’s Perfection Tour. This weekend they rode not only for victory but also to gain points for the Longines world ranking list. The show jumping over 1.40 m included two phases. Only those who mastered the seven obstacles without any faults made it into the second phase and were serious contenders for victory.

In the end, it was indeed one of the most talented young riders in the world who was delighted to receive the wonderful GLOCK’s trophy. Swiss-born Martin Fuchs performed an unfettered round with twelve-year-old Selle Française gelding Picsou du Chene in the tournament arena of GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER and, with a fault-free time of 26.97 seconds, he couldn't be beaten by anyone.

“Picsou du Chene is in great form. I will ride him tomorrow in the GLOCK’s CSI3* Grand Prix and hope to win again” said the Gold medal winner of the Olympic Youth Games in Singapore in his winner’s interview.

Second place in GLOCK’s Perfection Tour also went to a young shooting star. Nineteen-year-old Bertram Allen (IRL) piloted Aminko N, progeny of Numero Uno x Corland, equally fault-free through the course in 27.28 seconds and once again delivered a real demonstration of talent.
Many cheers went to the third-placed rider. In the saddle of twelve-year-old GLOCK’s Prince de Vaux (Flipper D'Elle x Super De Bourriere), double Olympic silver medallist, current Team World Champion and GLOCK Rider, Gerco Schröder (NED), delivered a perfect ride in a fault-free time of 27.75 seconds.

Max Kühner (AUT/T) and eight-year-old mare Electric Touch (Untouchable Z x Ti's Voltaire) made it to seventh place in an equally fault-free time of 28.36 seconds, providing the best result for Austria.

Caroline Wimmer dominates the GLOCK’s Medium Tour!

The excitement was high right to the very last starter today at the CSI1* GLOCK’s Medium Tour. For this jumping competition accumulator with joker over 1.30 m, course designer Frank Rothenberger had built in many opportunities for tight turns. And one person took advantage of all of them. Following their second place yesterday, Carinthia’s Caroline Wimmer and her eleven-year-old Athen succeeded in raising their game again today. A full 65 points and a dream time of 51.06 brought them their longed-for victory at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER.

At her winner’s interview, the talented female rider commented “It’s wonderful for me as a Carinthian to win in Carinthia, and in this wonderful atmosphere on top. Both horses and riders simply feel good here and I hope I can win once more tomorrow.”

Second place in the CSI1* GLOCK’s Medium Tour also went to Carinthia. After a long intervening period, Andreas Bauer, in the saddle on the 16-year-old Holsteiner Lando 281 and having scored 65 points in a time of 53.03, was indeed forced to concede defeat by a narrow margin after all. Dr. Georg Hladik (AUT/NÖ) and his always dependable Parcival Z (Picasso Z x Feinschnitt I) rode skilfully to achieve maximum points and, with 55.23 seconds, ultimately third place.

Ria de Janeiro under Mario Tschaitschmann (AUT/K) jumped to fourth place (65/63.63), Patrick Prömer (AUT/St) and Chicobello secured seventh place (55/57.69), Kathrin Kurat (AUT/K) and her Latina 0160 were eighth (55/71.00), Jenny Fehleisen and Silver Flow ninth (33/68.29), Susanne Kresch (AUT/St) and Heartbreaker 4 eleventh (25/53.66) and Ulrich Domaingo (AUT/K) and Cool Cookie twelfth (25/54.39).
