Sergio Alvarez Moya winner of the NH Hotels Trophy: Marina Frutuoso de Melo takes 6th place
The Spanish rider proclaimed winner of the CSI5* NH Hotels Trophy.The Galician Gonzalo Añón rose up brilliantly with two trophies during the day. From Portugal Marina Frutuoso de Melo claimed 6th place with Coltaire Z, with a brilliant double clear round.
The Asturian rider Sergio Álvarez Moya has started his participation in Casas Novas with spectacular victory at the indoor arena of the equestrian center. Twenty riders were classified for the jump off and Álvarez Moya, riding zipper had the best time with 32.98 Seconds. He was followed in the classification by the American Richard Spooner, riding Cristallo with 34.62 seconds followed by the binomial of the Belgium Gregory Wathelet and Riesling de Monselet.
INAUGURAL TROPHY
The Spanish junior champion Gonzalo Añón had claimed victory in the CSI2*Inaugural Trophy of A Coruna. Riding Leasing the couple has competed the class brilliantly stopping the clock in 50.89 seconds.
Álvaro García Díaz, also Spanish, came in second place with a time of 53.92 seconds riding Visama Corina. The full national podium was completed by the third classified, Luis Fernández Gil-Fournier, riding Espinosa with a time of 54.96 seconds.
TROFEO MÓSTOLES INDUSTRIAL
The young equestrian from Laracha continued with his brilliant participation winning the Móstoles Industrial Trophy. He was probably highly motivated for competing at home that is why Añón completed the class in 26.69 seconds, with his horse Tobías. The Spanish José Díaz Vecino and the Portuguese Joao Pedro Gomes accompanied him on the podium. Díaz Vecino finished with a time of 27.32 seconds riding Baly van Stapelvoorde. Finally, the Portuguese Pedro Gomes completed the event with a time of 28.82 seconds riding Electra S.
WARSTEINER TROPHY
The first CSI5* class made A Coruña public feel excited after watching how the second to last rider made an authentic exhibition to obtain the first place of the Trophy. The couple formed by Leopold Van Asten and VDL Groep Amelie completed the class in 51.17 seconds without mistakes. The second place was for the Ukrainian Cassio Rivetti and his horse Cartoon 2 stopping the time in 53.84 seconds. The third position was for Henk Van de Pol riding Willink with a time of 54.35 seconds.
TOMORROW COMPETITIONS
Tomorrow, Saturday, the Equestrian Centre will welcome again the fight over other four trophies, among them, Casas Novas Grand Prix at 6:15pm, the greatest race of the weekend. This event will have obstacles with a maximum height of 1, 60 meters. The great unknown is if the Spanish Sergio Álvarez Moya is going to ratify the title he got in the previous edition. For that purpose, he will have to fight over illustrious figures such as Steve Guerdat, current gold Olympic champion of the modality; Gerco Shröder, silver medal in the last Olympic Games and the World champion, the Belgian Philippe le Jeune.
The day will start at 12:30pm with the Marqués de Riscal Trophy and will be competed with speed and handiness table with a maximum height of 1, 30 meters. At 3:15pm will be held the Porche Trophy, fault and time with a maximum height of 1, 40 meters. The final class of the day will be La Caixa Trophy, fault and time with a maximum height of 1, 45 meters.
