Scara Boa to win World Championship Qualifier

A variety of perspectives, former assessments, current skill levels and future prospects – this is what makes Verden’s International Dressage and Show Jumping Festival with the FEI World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses that special.

Today, the lively coloured Hanoverian chestnut mare Scara Boa by Scolari – Wolkenstein II left the best impression in the qualifier for the World Breeding Dressage Championships of five-year-old horses. The gorgeous five-year-old mare, presented by Lena Stegemann (Hemmoor), may be considered surprise winner, however, she already showed convincing performances before. She finished sixth at the 2012 Federal Championships in Warendorf and won the 2011 Herwart von der Decken-Show at the age of three – which confirms the visionary judgment of Hanover’s breeding experts.

Scara Boa won with the perfect score of 9.62, earning 9 and better for all basic gaits, submissiveness and overall impression. The mare impressed with her brilliant quality, her submissiveness, contact with the bit and composure despite being completely concentrated. Rixta Stolter bred the chestnut mare, Ingo Pape is Scara Boa’s owner. Emmelie Scholtens from the Netherlands who already rode a number of young horses to medals at world championships, guided the black stallion Desperado to the second place (mark of 9.14). The KWPN-stallion by Vivaldi – Havidoff showed wonderful walk performances to his best mark of 9.4. And horses from the Royal Dutch warmblood breed also occupied the third and fourth place. Kirsten Brouwer presented Dancer by Vivaldi – Tango (8.96), Tom Franckx (Belgium) followed with Dolcherie by Painted Black – Krack C (8.94).
