Robert Smith does the double at Estoril
Robert Smith from Shrewley, Warwickshire has capped an amazing start at the CSI5* in Estoril, Portugal, by winning the small and big classes on the first day.
Robert, aged 41, riding Ronaldo jumped a stunning clear round to snatch the small class from Swiss Beat Mandli on Liberte Courcelle. Austria’s Thomas Fruhmann finished in third place.
Robert aboard Vangelis S with a double clear beat a field of 34 combinations and claimed the big class at 1,50m. Michel Robert from France on Galet d'Auzay was sencond. Irish Marion Hughes, winner of the Grand Prix at Vimeiro last weekend with Heritage Transmission, was third.
