Portimão to stage a Grand Equestrian Gala

The Portimão riverside area will stage on the 2nd August a Grand Equestrian Gala, with an exhibition from the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. The event, scheduled for 22.30hrs, forms part of the programme “PortugAll Summer”, an initiative by the Ministry of the Economy, the local Municipality and ExpoArade to boost tourism in Algarve.

The Portuguese School of Equestrian Art is the reconstitution of the Royal Riding School, Equestrian Academy of the Portuguese Court of the XVIII century. It has maintained until the present day the same breed of horses used, as well as the same riding style, saddlery and dress.

You will certainly be amazed by the wonderful riding skills of the horsemen from the Portuguese School of the Equestrian Art, reminding you of the fashions and costumes of the 18th century and continuing to keep them very much alive in the present.

The one hour show will include 12 riders under the orientation of the Mestre Filipe Graciosa. Entrance is free.
