Oliva Nova Mediterranean Equestrian Tour 2012 – Preparations on schedule

Preparations for the OLIVA NOVA MEDITERRANEAN EQUESTRIAN TOUR 2012 at the Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort, approximately 40 minutes south of Valencia, are moving along well
within schedule. The newly formed show jumping tour will run from February 14th to March 11th, 2012 and the tour organizers are not leaving anything to chance.

Top international course designer Frank Rothenberger (GER), who was the Technical Delegate Show Jumping at the WEG Kentucky 2010 and will hold the same position at the upcoming Olympic Games 2012 in London, was asked to visit the site for two days to inspect the preparations. Rothenberger said that he is, “very happy with the development of the facility and positive it will be ready on time for the tour start in February 2012. The infrastructure is very well planned and the easy access to
close by hotels and restaurants is very inviting.”

Work on the competition arenas with professional footing and drainage systems will be completed by the beginning of December 2011. Two of the arenas are 60 x 90 m and the main arena is 80 x 120m. A further highlight, already under construction but planned for use during the 2013 Tour, is a 80 x
140 m grass grand prix field which will have two permanent water jumps and palm tree landscaping.

The stabling area is well organized and, alongside tent stabling, the initial 300 permanent boxes will be completed by January 2012.

The OLIVA NOVA MEDITERRANEAN EQUESTRIAN TOUR 2012 organizers are very happy about the positive response and advice from Frank Rothenberger and will continue to work towards a successful tour start in February 2012.
