Nineteen countries will be represented at Vimeiro

Vimeiro’s International Show Jumping Competition, will kicked off on the 13th July at the Golf Mar Hotel’s Riding Centre, and is the second of three International Show Jumping Events (CSI***) that are going to take place in 2006.

Besides these, two National A Grade Competitions will take place during the season. At this 8th edition of the International Competitions, the Golf Mar Hotel’s Riding Centre has received entries from riders representing 19 countries, some of which are part of the national teams.

From the 20th to 23rd July the three star CSI will take place. A record 400 entries were received for these international events that will be welcoming the spanish Alfredo Fernandez Duran, Eugenie Angot (Fra), Alex Rident (Gbr), Hans Lubbe (Ger) amonst others.

The Riding Centre

It is about 300m away from Praia do Porto Novo and the Atlantic coast countless beaches, some of them with private land access belonging to “Empresa das Águas do
Vimeiro” owns Golf Mar Hotel. The Riding Centre is located between these mild hillsides and the Atlantic and it is supplied with a 251 room Hotel, restaurant, panoramic bars, heated indoor pool, outdoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy rooms, gymnasium, games room, disco, tennis courts and golf.

The natural beauty, people’s hospitality, the good and social atmosphere at Golf Mar Hotel and the presence of the best riders have contributed to turn these competitions into a considerable success. With every day improvements, Vimeiro’s Show Jumping has become one of the main events of our national calendar.
