New manager for GLOCK jump team: Franke Sloothaak

Multiple Olympic and World Champion Franke Sloothaak (GER) has now taken over the GLOCK show jumping team.

As the new team manager at the GLOCK HORSE PERFORMANCE CENTER with a wealth of experience gained over the years, the famous German show jumper will be responsible for ensuring appropriate coordination, providing training input and support in general for GLOCK riders Gerfried and Robert Puck, Dieter Köfler, Markus Stock, David Tschikof and also military specialist Katrin Khoddam-Hazrati. The goal is to enable the GLOCK riders and horses to unlock their potential and achieve the highest possible degree of perfection.

About Franke Sloothaak

Born in Heerenveen in February 1958, Dutchman Franke Sloothaak’s long track record of success started with the selection for the Dutch team when he was only 14 years old, team silver at the Junior European Championships in Ireland and many youth championship titles. He later trained with German Olympic Champion Alwin Schockemöhle, became a German citizen in 1979 and German champion many times over.

In 1983 Franke Sloothaak moved to Paul Schockemöhle’s stables and took part in the Olympic Games for the first time in 1984, taking home team bronze. Since then, Franke, who is also renowned for his meticulous dressage work, has chalked up two golds and one bronze at Olympics, three golds and one bronze at World Equestrian Games, one silver and one bronze at European championships, three golds, eight silvers and two bronze medals at German Championships and several Grand Prix wins.
