Mafra School a success at Avignon

In January, Avignon turns into the world horseshow capital with its fabulous Equestrian festival.

The third-biggest show of its kind in Europe and by far the most creative was held this year between the 17th and 21st
January. Each new edition is full of innovation – drawing new crowds and long-time fans. A delight for connoisseurs and horse lovers. The show extends through 7 buildings, with 250 exhibitors touching on all kinds of horse-related activities – equipment, clothing, boots, food, care, training, art, decoration … The program features exhibitions, competitions, performances and shows, with lots of highlights, including the gala evening “Gala des Crinières d'Or”, the high point of Cheval Passion.

Dressage and vaulting, combining tradition and innovation with performances from The Garde Républicaine, the national stables “Haras Nationaux”, and for the very first time, the Mafra School of Equestrian Art from Portugal, and the Théâtre du Centaure, with Gabrielle Dew, Joël Chacon, Marion Watebled, Sébastian Fernandez Martin… Lots of other talented artistes, Calixte de Nigremont is master of ceremonies.

Aproximately 1000 horses were presented in the form of short performances, – pure blood, Arabian, Barbe, Camargue, Espagnol, Lusitanien, Lipizzan, Quarter Horse, Appaloosa, Frisons, Mérens, Shagya…
